Here it is! This is my contribution to Big Cats Emporium Art Swap. I am amazed at all the contributions of the other ladies and am afraid that mine does not measure up but I did the best that I could and remember that I am still learning! I will get my painting in the post tomorrow where hopefully it will zoom quickly to Australia to Judy of the Flightless Boyds! This is such a fun little swap, I cant wait to get mine in the mail! The theme was In The Woods and that theme is definately up my alley. My father did comment that my painting does not portray your conventional woods and it definately does not but it has trees so I hope it qualifies as In The Woods! I hope you like it Judy!
A big thanks to Big Cat for all her work organizing the swap! She has been a great friend while becoming acquainted with the land of blogging! I look forward to the next swap!
Happy Trails to all! 22 days until I graduate!!!!

Today I had a marathon movie day and worked on my graduation announcements. I have decided that everyone is going to be different and so far they are. Some are cute, some are not as cute but it is fun none the less and I just cant believe I am old enough to be sending out graduation announcements! One more month!
I thought that I would share with you one of my favorite fixtures in my room. Your eyes are not decieveing you. This is a clock, and a cushion. It is soft and squishy just like a cushion! It is not highly effective as a clock but lovely none the less.
I have been very busy and I hope to post again later. Happy Trails!

http://www.greatestjournal.com/quiz.bml?Q=16354"> size=+1>You Are Ariel!
Headstrong and fiesty. You have a mind of your own that's full of romantic dreams about the world around you. Exploring exotic places is your ultimate dream, and although you can be a little naive you'll realize that there is something to be gained from your family's wisdom.
I wouldnt normally take or post little quizzes of this nature but these are so oddly true that I cannot help myself I had to share. I first took the Disney Princess Quiz and thought, "wow yes this is me." I was taken aback at how true it was actually. Then I took the Jane Austen heroin quiz and again I thought the same thing. So... Share in a bit of my internet wanderings with me. I am a nut(not yet included on the personality profiles) but I wouldnt have it any other way. I also want to mention that I took The Office character quiz and I am the most like Pam. This is a good thing because at the moment Pam is dating Jim and I love Jim! Enjoy!
Happy monday all! I am going to post again later!

1 cup pecans
1 (9 inch) pie shell, baked
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
1/4 cup corn syrup
2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter
1 egg yolk
3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
Place pecans into bottom of pie shell.
To Make Filling: In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, cook condensed milk, brown sugar, butter and corn syrup. Stir and bring to a boil; stir continuously for at least 5 minutes. Remove from heat, then slowly beat with a spoon until mixture starts to thicken; will take about 2 minutes. Be sure not to over beat or it will harden too much. Pour mixture into pie shell; cover and refrigerate for about an hour. Filling ingredients may be halved to make for a less rich pie.
To Make Topping: In a medium saucepan, cook chocolate and butter over low heat until melted together. Stir in condensed milk; mix well. Remove from heat; allow to cool just enough so that yolk won't cook when added, but not so cool that the chocolate hardens; cooling time will be about 3 minutes. Stir in egg yolk to chocolate mixture; spread over cooled filling. Place pie back in refrigerator and cool for another hour.
Not much to look at yet but it will be eventually!

Please direct your attention to the right hand side of my blog and you will see that I have added a quote section. I do not know how often I will change it but every so often I will fill that little box with words of wisdom... or sometimes merely just words that make you laugh. So be sure to tune in to that new little feature.
Happy Week Everyone!!!! I first will begin with a story. My friend Allison (pictured below) decided to play a little April Fools Day joke on me and i do have to admit that she got me good. I woke up Tuesday morning and had about 10 text messages on my phone from Allison saying things like this... "Tessa I have something very important to tell you" "My parents had a long talk with us last night and we are moving." "We are leaving next week and I don't know what to do" "Tessa I need your help" "Please help me know what to do" Now because It was 6:30 in the morning and because I never know what date it is I was completely fooled. I screamed and I ran out to my mother explaining the situation and my mother freaked out as well offering to have her live with us. I frantically texted her explaining that wherever she was i was coming to talk to her when she finally explained that it was all a joke. I wasn't even that mad I was just happy to know that she was not moving to Montana and she will be here for a long while. We love Allison... we just don't love how her cleverness turns me into a fool from time to time.
The other day in a college class I am taking (English 102) we were assigned to do an analysis on a movie and we were given five choices. I was delighted to see that Lord of the Rings: Return of the King was one of the choices and quite honestly did not even look at the rest. My professor then went on to talk about how he is not a Lord of the Rings freak... like those people that watch all the appendixes and read the Silmarillion (Middle Earth History) and own all the Lord of the Rings paraphernalia. I did my best not to comment or give myself away but the truth is that I have done all of the things he mentioned "lord of the rings freaks" do. I have watched all the behind the scenes on the movies (all 12 hours) I have read the Silmarillion twice and I do in fact own Galadriels ring named Nenya that I wear everyday. So I guess I could be classified as a Lord of the Rings freak but I have never really thought of myself as one before but as I sat in that class I realized that I am obsessed. The beautiful thing though is that I am not the only one my family is all the same way. We are all obsessed in fact I am pretty sure that I am the most mild one in my family, except for my mom she refuses to watch or read them out of rebellion, we love her anyway! So there is your explanation of my addiction. All of that was to tell you that I had an old copy of the Two Towers lying around and I decided to make some art out of it. So the pages of The Two Towers will be the background of my newest tree creation. Here is what I am working on... I will be sure to post when I finish.
I now have my hands on the second season of lost!!!!!!!! I have to control myself with this season though. No more getting so into it I ditch my classes or show up late to work (all hypothetical of course i didn't do any of those things... I never do!)
